Privacy Policy

Millio is built for children, which means privacy is not an afterthought โ it is a core design constraint. This policy explains plainly what we collect, why, and what we do not do with it.
Our Principles
We follow a simple set of principles that govern every data decision we make:
- We collect only what is strictly necessary to run the app.
- We do not sell, share, or monetize any user data.
- We do not serve ads. There are no advertising networks, tracking pixels, or behavioral profiling tools in Millio.
- Children's data stays on the device and is never uploaded to third parties.
- Parents are in control. Any data that can be deleted, can be deleted by the parent at any time.
What We Collect
Parent Data
When you create a household in Millio, we store locally on your device:
- Your household name (as you choose to set it)
- Your parent PIN (stored locally, never transmitted)
- Your session preferences (time limits, challenge interval, content filter settings)
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or payment information (all billing is handled directly by the App Store and is governed by Apple's privacy policy).
Child Data
For each child profile you create, we store locally on your device:
- The child's first name (as you enter it)
- Their age group (not exact date of birth)
- Chosen content interests (categories like Animals, Numbers, Science)
- Session history (dates, durations, challenges completed)
- Earned stars and badges
None of this information leaves your device. It is stored in your app's local data store and is only accessible within the Millio app on your device.
Voice Input
Some focus challenges in Millio include optional voice-response activities. Voice input is:
- Entirely optional โ challenges can be completed without using voice
- Controlled by parents in the app settings
- Intended for on-device recognition in production and never sent to Millio servers
- Not stored or retained after the challenge session ends
The iOS microphone permission will be requested before any voice feature is activated. Parents should be able to disable voice answers from the parent settings area, and microphone access can also be revoked at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
Usage Analytics
We collect minimal, anonymized usage analytics to understand how the app is used and identify crashes. This data is:
- Anonymous โ not linked to any user, device, or household
- Limited to app feature usage counts and error reports
- Never combined with any personal or child data
We use Apple's built-in analytics framework, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We do not use third-party analytics services (no Firebase, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel).
What We Do Not Collect
- Precise location data
- Contacts, camera, or photo library content
- Device identifiers for advertising purposes
- Behavioral data for ad targeting
- Social graph information
- Health or biometric data
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Millio is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent international regulations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verifiable parental consent. All child profiles are created and managed by parents or guardians. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Millio without parental consent, please contact us at privacy@milliokids.app and we will promptly investigate.
Data Retention and Deletion
All app data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all Millio data at any time by:
- Going to Settings โ Account โ Delete Account within the app (removes all household and child data)
- Or by deleting the Millio app from your device (which removes all locally stored data)
Because data is stored locally and not on our servers, deletion is immediate and complete.
Subscriptions and Billing
Premium subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. Millio does not receive or store your payment method, billing address, or full name. For billing questions, cancellations, or refunds, please use the App Store subscription management in your iPhone Settings.
Third-Party Services
Millio does not integrate with advertising networks, social media platforms, or data brokers. We do not sell or license user data to any third party.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you through an in-app notification before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
